Description

Most reliable detection device under tough conditions

The PAC 8500 detector, with its shock-proof, chemical-resistant chassis and a membrane filter to protect it from fluids and dust, is an ideal companion in harsh environments. It’s simple to use, with a large, lighted display that clearly shows the gas concentration, unit of measurement, and battery life. The LED light indicates whether or not the item has been tested and is suitable for usage. To reduce the possibility of errors, each gas has a different color code. When the alarm is triggered, it emits a clear visual (360°), vibrating, and auditory alarm.

The Pac® 8500 is a single-gas detector with hydrogen-compensated CO sensors or a Dräger dual sensor. The dual sensor allows you to measure two gases at the same time: H2S and CO or O2 and CO. All PAC devices include highly durable DrägerSensor XXS sensors and a robust battery.

Benefits of PAC 8500

Strong performance for maximum safety

Even in harsh situations, you can rely on the Draeger Pac 8500 to provide accurate, exact readings. Our strong sensors, which have a low t-90 response time, ensure rapid responses. You can create extra alert thresholds for TLV (Threshold Limit Values) and STEL (Short Term Exposure Limit) in addition to the normal alarms. The Pac 8500 additionally has a data and event recorder that records concentrations and events as well as the date and time. The data can be imported into a PC and processed there via an interface.

Two gas detections detection instrument

The Draeger Pac 8500 series sensor combinations include hydrogen sulfide with carbon monoxide and oxygen with carbon monoxide. Dual sensors allow the detection of even low concentrations – all in one convenient instrument. Measuring two gases at the same time cuts down on downtime. Using a single gas detector, you may measure the vol.% of oxygen and the ppm of carbon monoxide at the same time.

Measurement of carbon monoxide with significantly reduced cross sensitivity

Cross sensitivity may cause the observed value for carbon monoxide to be falsified in businesses where carbon monoxide must be monitored with hydrogen as a background gas. This cross-sensitivity to hydrogen in the display of carbon monoxide is greatly decreased because of Draeger’s innovative hydrogen-compensated CO sensor. This new function may reduce the need to transport two separate detectors.
